Country Gardens/Berkshire

This rural garden suffers heavy, infertile soil and a high water table in the winter. It's location is quite exposed and the local rabbits have healthy appetites! The design uses a large patio outside the kitchen/family room for year round access, with deep beds giving a sense of enclosure whilst allowing views across the garden. The herbaceous planting was chosen to be left standing, providing winter structure and texture whilst sheltering beneficial wildlife for the following spring.
